A possible source of confusion with this question (not to mention the next one) is that Artemisia (as she is apparently known) also painted Salome with the Head of John the Baptist.
I don't know if the Bible even records who actually carried out the beheading of Saint John the Baptist, but still: like I said, a possible source of confusion.
